Joining Fit Club and working out with Mitch has helped me to re-engage a level of fitness I haven't thought about since high school. As an adult I've been involved with long range backpacking, cycling, and running, all of which require a kind of slow and plodding work that goes on and on, and that I enjoy. My body gives energy steadily for a long time, and with a resting heart rate in the 40's I've definitely benefitted. However, last September, in spite of my being "fit" in the eyes any doctor, I hurt my back when I tried to lift something heavy. It is a hard truth that life, at times, demands we do things other than sustain our target heart rate for 30 minutes.
With Mitch's approach to Crossfit, and fitness in general, I'm improving in areas of strength, power, and stamina that have lain dormant in me for a long time. My back has stabilized, and with the intense focus on proper form provided at Fit Club I feel confident that I will not lift again in a way that results in injury. I still like long range workouts and adventures, but with Fit Club I feel like I'm preparing in a more holistic way for all of life's challenges.

I can't rave enough at the changes I've seen in my own body. Since I've been coming regularly my endurance and speed have improved tremendously. Its been such a visible change that I find when I'm out playing rugby, I'm able to keep going longer and burst more up on the ball. I used to run at the back of the pack but now I find myself running more in the middle...much closer to the front. I've also noticed physical changes. My "love handles" have been trimming down. It was dramatic enough that I decided to push myself the extra bit thru diet to get a 6-pack abs by my 40th birthday. Even if I don't make my deadline I can definitely attest to being in the best shape of my life.

My biggest change has been my weight loss. I have always been active with mountain biking and the extra weight was holding me back. My original reason for going to Fit Club was to lose that weight and start riding. It turned into so much more. I had no idea how much fun Yoga and Cross Fit could be. I have lost 40 pounds and gained strength, flexibility, and speed. The members are friendly and the instruction is great; it's like a family (if your family likes to hit things and carry heavy stuff). Now get me to a trail and keep up if you can!
